Accessibility & ADA Compliance

MCC's accessibility commitment, including WCAG-oriented design practices, keyboard focus, contrast support, reduced motion, and visitor feedback.
Our Commitment
The Maine Cannabis Coalition is committed to making our Platform accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. We strive to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA and to provide an experience that is usable, readable, and comfortable for all visitors, consistent with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
Accessibility Widget
An accessibility widget is available on every page from the bottom-right corner of the screen. It gives visitors practical controls to tailor the site to their needs. Preferences are saved on the visitor's device, so selected settings stay active while moving through the site and when returning later.
- Text size controls for easier reading
- Higher-contrast and dark-contrast display modes
- Reduced-motion controls to minimize animations and motion effects
Built-In Accessibility Features
The accessibility widget adds practical controls on top of accessibility that is built into the Platform at the source.
- Semantic, properly labeled buttons and interactive elements
- Visible keyboard focus styles for navigation without a mouse
- Responsive layouts that adapt to different screen sizes and zoom levels
- Reduced-motion support that respects device and browser preferences
- Sufficient color contrast and text labels alongside color-coded signals
Ongoing Effort
The widget is a helpful enhancement, not a substitute for accessible design. We treat accessibility as an ongoing part of how we build and maintain the Platform.
Accessibility is a continuous process. We regularly review the Platform and work to improve the experience for all users. Some third-party content or features may not yet be fully accessible, and we are committed to addressing issues as we identify them.
Feedback and Assistance
If you encounter any accessibility barrier, or if you need information or assistance accessing any part of the Platform, please contact us. We welcome your feedback and will make reasonable efforts to provide the information or service you need through an accessible method.
When contacting us about an accessibility issue, please include the page or feature involved and a description of the difficulty so we can respond effectively.
